The end of a classic comedy.

A once great comedy ends with a rather corny story, The Pop Star. Despite a dip in later years, I think the final series gave us some very funny episodes, the least funny, being this one.

I personally wasn't a fan of Mr Spooner, not necessarily the faul of Mile Berry himself, perhaps the writing for him wasn't the best, he was never really developes, just came in to step into Bannister's ahoes. so I don't really think it's fair that he was put centre stage in the finale.

Sadly a music career didn't work out for neither Mrs Slocombe, Mr Humphries, nor Miss Brahms, as the pair would return in Grace and Favour.

It's a decent send off, but such a great show deserved to end with a classic. 6/10

Goodbye to Grace Brothers

While nobody can take away from the fact that 'Are You Being Served?' is one of the best sitcoms the UK has ever produced, equally I don't think it can be denied that it simply went on too long, and instead of telling stories about things that realistically could happen in a department store, instead wrote stories about things that might happen in a sort of fantasy department store.

Yes, the big changes in cast didn't help, with the replacements never really being as good.

This episode is a good example of what the show became at the end. It's full of nice little moments, and some good jokes, but it's all been done far better before.

I prefer to remember the show at its best
