Vir in love?!
planktonrules12 January 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Yes, in the summary it DOES say "Vir in love"--something that seems practically impossible based on who his character has been so far in the series. Vir is a very decent Centauri--something you rarely see in the series. He's also very gentle and also, well,..., a bit "nerdy". So, seeing him meet his new arranged bride-to-be is quite the surprise for him as well as the audience! It just seems almost impossible to see him with a lady who practically worships him and wants him! However, this amazing woman also carries a secret that threatens to destroy their happy marriage. Additionally, Vir himself also has a secret that MIGHT result in his possible arrest or at least his recall from Minbar. How all this works out is something you'll just have to see for yourself. It's a good episode, but not a lot of super-important things occur--sort of a quiet before the storm.

Not quite right

Warning: Spoilers
This is nothing against Furst's Vir. I think his character is interesting. But as a Vir focused episode, it doesn't work. The story doesn't play out quite right. And nothing fits together.

The scene where Ivanova and Sheridan pull up Vir and uncover his lies misses any of the right beats. Overall the characters feel off. And the story disjointed.

Underneath all of it is an important story about Vir and how he is different to the other Centari. But it takes quite a bit to get there.

As a first time watcher, this is a low point for season 3.

I was about to give this episode an 8 (mainly because of Sheridelenn) before witnessing that obnoxious ending where one of the characters has seemingly gone from understanding the need for rebellion to outright acceptance of his dismal yet comfortable fate. Gross.

Vir is one of the worst characters on B5

Warning: Spoilers
Vir's exaggerated facial expression and rapid, shallow breathing in all circumstances is ridiculous and annoying.
