A fan-favorite episode.
The usual street-funky groove soundtrack is peppered with harmonica and banjo since the episode goes out of the city and into the country, and especially because it deals with two hillbilly bad guys.
An episode chock full of cult actors who either played crazy roles or lived crazy lives, or both: Gary Busey, Robert Blake and Mackenzie Phillips had their own demons and scrapes with the law while Strother Martin usually was cast as a villain or lunatic.
The Plot Summary that reads "Baretta has to go on the run to clear his name after he's framed for the murder of a gun dealer he was investigating, who was selling weapons to teenagers" is NOT for this episode. It's completely wrong (until corrected).
This episode is liken to a road movie, and the same year, Mackenzie Phillips was in a real road movie, titled Rafferty and the Gold Dust Twins.
