Second and last appearance in the series for Walter Olkewicz. Both times he played people who were performing. Here, he's the title clown, William Krebs. In Liquidation (1981), he was Walter Cushing, who sang in public to overcome his inhibitions. He ended the episode, and the show's seventh season, by singing "High Hopes" to a still-drunk Harris who drowned his sorrows over losing the final appeal of the judgment against him in Arnold Ripner's lawsuit.
The self-styled cowboy Mr. Landry is named after the Tom Landry, coach of the Dallas Cowboys.
