- TriviaWhile undercover, Harris calls the precinct from a Stuckey's in Maryland to report in. Stuckey's is a chain of roadside convenience stores found mostly along Interstate and other major U.S. highways. The stores generally have snack bars, gasoline and souvenirs. The heyday for Stuckey's was in the three decades following World War II. At the time of this episode there were about 350 Stuckey's locations from coast to coast. In 2021 there were only 65 locations left, mostly from the southeastern U.S. to Missouri. Stuckey's is noted for its pecan logs, which is why Wojo asks Harris to bring him one.
- GoofsAlthough he is called Alfred during the episode, Leonard Frey's character is listed as Arthur Royce in the credits.

Harris returns with the bum's rush
"Vanished" concludes its 2-part storyline with the missing Harris, turning up with the other kidnapped vagrants at a North Carolina peanut farm, shanghaied into hard labor (David Fresco makes his second and last appearance as Monty, one of Ray's fellow bums). Ray (John Dullaghan, seventh of ten) sticks around at the 12th, answering calls and directing traffic when they all return. Elaine Giftos (second of two) returns as Laura Kiergo, no longer searching for the right man to father her child, thanking both Wojo and Dietrich for their kindness before bidding adieu...to Levitt! Inspector Luger finds himself reduced to a 'lousy stinking Captain,' working at the 12th under a 'former underling!' He and Levitt bring back a holdup man (Leonard Frey, second of two) who claims he needed the money to finance his presidential campaign! (his slogan is 'Arthur Royce, the people's candidate').
