As a kid I missed both the movie and Season Three so I thought only Julie Newmar had ever played The Catwoman. So when saw this episode on Yorkshire TV in 1976 I had two big surprises in store for me.
When The Catwoman gatecrashes the opening banquet my immediate reaction was puzzlement that none of the guests exclaimed "It's Eartha Kitt!! What are you doing dressed as Catwoman??" (The CIA later described Kitt as "a sadistic nymphomaniac" - presumably after seeing an episode of 'Batman' and thinking it was a documentary). Then Commissioner Gordon turned out to now have a daughter who moonlit as someone who called herself Batgirl.
But I wasn't complaining, especially as The Catwoman promptly has Batgirl tied up. And this episode furnishes Batman with the most memorable compliment he ever paid the Princess of Plunder: "She may be evil. But she is... attractive!"
My only quibble is that Catwoman didn't need to change into a ballgown to already qualify as the best-dressed woman in Gotham...
