- When a billionaire builds a casino called the Joker's Wild, the Joker breaks out of Arkham Asylum to destroy it.
- While in Arkham Asylum, The Joker sees a television report on the opening of a splashy new casino by businessman Cameron Kaiser. The casino is based entirely on Joker's persona, which angers the Clown Prince Of Crime, and also irritates visiting billionaire Bruce Wayne. Joker escapes Arkham and makes a bee-line to The Joker's Wild casino to blow it up, while Bruce Wayne dons his cape and cowl and discovers Cameron Kaiser's real motive for building it. When Joker arrives he gets duped out in a card game by Bruce Wayne, then dodges Batman via his old Jokermobile before getting to work in earnest to blow up the casino. Batman meanwhile confronts Kaiser, but is knocked out via electric shock and dumped into the Joker's lap. Now tied to a gigantic roulette wheel, Batman recovers enough to warn Joker that Kaiser intends for him to destroy the casino for a massive insurance payment, causing Joker to go after Kaiser while leaving behind enough explosive to finish off Batman.—Michael Daly
- At Arkham Asylum, a fight starts between Poison Ivy and the Joker over the television. Ivy was watching a gardening show, then the Joker popped in and changed it to the news. The disagreement is eventually resolved with the Joker getting his way. On the news, the latest bulletin is of billionaire Cameron Kaiser unveiling his latest venture... the Joker's Wild, a casino built around the Joker's flamboyant image. The Joker is outraged that Kaiser would use his image as a money machine, and goaded by a gleeful Ivy, he breaks out of Arkham.
Bruce Wayne checks into the Wild as a paying guest, where as Batman he hopes to investigate behind Kaiser's obvious ploy to draw out the Joker. Soon, the Joker himself turns up, and is strangely touched by what he sees as a temple dedicated to himself. He goes undercover for the time being as a blackjack dealer, and annoys the customers with his antics. One of those customers is Bruce Wayne, who bests him at a round of blackjack; however, as soon as Batman shows up, the Joker gets away in a vintage Jokermobile, crashing it into the nearby ocean as he escapes, nearly crashing Batman in the bargain.
The Dark Knight survives and in the meantime looks into Kaiser's records, discovering that Kaiser has come to the verge of bankruptcy during the casino's construction. He thus redesigned the casino to have Joker-themed décor to deliberately attract the Joker, and then took out a massive insurance claim; with the inevitable destruction of the casino, he can claim insurance and recover his losses. Unfortunately, when Batman confronts Kaiser on his scam, the crooked businessman activates a floor-mounted electrical grid, shocking Batman unconscious. Kaiser's henchmen capture the unconscious Batman and send him down the elevator - right into the path of the Clown Prince of Crime.
The Joker ties up Batman on a giant roulette wheel, comfortably placed next to some explosives set to blow up the casino. But Batman reveals Kaiser's plot and realizing he's been tricked by Kaiser, he decides it would be far more fun to run the casino himself, and after tossing a grenade at Batman leaves to deal with Kaiser. However, Batman escapes the booby trap, and catches the Joker just as he's about to throw Kaiser out of a helicopter. Despite nearly getting killed, he manages to bring down the helicopter and capture the Joker.
Back at Arkham, the Joker changes the TV channel from the news to a cartoon. Once again, he gets into a dispute with Ivy, but this time he loses, and grumbling he changes the channel back. To add insult to injury, the news bulletin in place features his arrest...
