a show which contains the defining moments of the relationship between Catherine and Vincent.

This is likely my favourite story in the series. It clearly moves the relationship between Catherine and Vincent forward. I noticed in the second season there seemed to be a lot of dialogue between them at the finale of each show. I looked forward to that time to hear how they shared their views of whatever experience the particular show brought. Because Catherine has lost her father, she is now alone. She shares her grief with Vincent who is loving, restrained and supportive. She is torn between wanting to live with Vincent and continuing her work above. Vincent despite his wish for a life together, understands and talks about the journey they share. His words, while comforting express his real need to be clear that what they are doing must be done in the right way and the right time. I think the writers and producers of the show did not know which direction the show would take but were cautious in making any commitment to a future that might appear conventional. Still it answered the question many faithful fans had about when the relationship would, if ever, be consumated.
