- TriviaThis takes place in December 1968.
- GoofsTowards the beginning of the episode, after Cousin Bessie, Elly's chimp, hands Granny her letter, a crew member's hands can be seen in the bottom left corner of the screen motioning to direct the chimp. Then shortly after that when Granny's sits down at the kitchen table to read the letter, the shadow of a crew member can be seen on the left side in the background, possibly cueing Elly Mae and the bear to enter the kitchen.
- Quotes
Daisy Moses: [reading Sam Drucker's letter] "I hope you like them, sugar." Bold rascal.
Jed Clampett: Called you "sugar", did he?
Daisy Moses: Read it for yourself.
Jed Clampett: I think that goes with the next line. "I hope you like them sugar-cured".

JETHRO THE MOVIE PRODUCER RETURNS!
This goofy Christmas episode has the Clampetts being invited to Hooterville to spend the holidays.
This was another crossover to PETTICOAT JUNCTION, not to forget GREEN ACRES also got into the mix from time to time as all three series were indirectly related. This picks up from a previous story as Jethro (in an outrageous jacket, looking like someone from a circus!) conned sisters Billie Joe and Betty Joe into thinking he will make them movie stars. He also wants to marry both of them, and why not?.... as they are the perfect match for him. Do the math! Series co-stars Meredith MacRae and Lori Saunders appear as does the ever resourceful Sam Drucker (so well played by Frank Cady). Cady was a veteran actor who amassed a long list of credits in both movies and tv, and always fun to watch, sort of the adult in the room.
This episode more than likely was an attempt to boost the ratings of PETTICOAT JUNCTION following the death of star Bea Benadaret a few months earlier. The series, despite guest appearances from many well known actors, was never quite the same as the (not soo bright at times) daughters were lacking a wise old mom. Writer's eventually wrote out Kate Bradley as being away to take care of "family", but that was a long, long shot. This episode also features a bear "critter" walking around the Clampett mansion -- and do you see the trainer's hands (or somebody's hands) caught on camera? Kooky stuff.
SEASON 7 CBS dvd restored box set.
