The One With The Caller...

Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoy this episode. It has a very powerful storyline involving rape and it really gets you thinking. By the end of it, you're just glad it wasn't based on a true story.

In this episode, Brenda goes to help Andrea at the volunteer help-line and ends up answering a call, when she shouldn't be. It's a young girl in crisis who has been raped and is very scared. The girl only trusts Brenda, which means Brenda has to talk to her after everyone at the help-line realizes that she answered a call without being properly prepared or given permission. By the end of the episode, Brenda finds the girl who has been attacked by several guys on the football team, and they get arrested.

Overall, I give this episode an 8 out of 10, which in my ratings book is: Awesome.

The Gentle Art of Listening (#1.8)

A pretty well done episode about a serious topic such as rape. It is pretty good because they bring in such things that the victim is not at fault. And it has some tension in it as Brenda tries to find the girl in the school to help her out. It is kind of weird they had such hotlines where kids talked to thee one who go to their school. How anonymous is it then? I would have never called knowing that somebody who knows me could pick up.

To bring a bit of comical relief is Brandon's story about the "older woman" (she is 25 which is indeed an older woman for a 16 year old). Doesn't really work the way Brandon wants but was kind of funny.
