- Nick and Heath, on their way home with a prize bull, are accused of stealing the animal and are sentenced to a brutal work camp - without a trial.
- Heath and Nick are falsely accused by a rancher named MacGowan of stealing one of his bulls. Arrested by the corrupt Sheriff Barnes, they're placed in a prison-camp run by the heartless Captain Rizely. Rizely, a disgraced former navy officer, forces them to do hard labor -- which benefits MacGowan -- despite a burn-injury to Heath's leg suffered at the time of his arrest. Rizely torments Heath by having him flogged and later by locking him without water inside a metal sweat-box. This prompts Nick to plan an escape attempt, which is just what Rizely wants. Having belatedly discovered that his two new prisoners are members of the powerful and influential Barkley family, Rizely wants to eliminate them before an investigation is launched into their disappearance. He figures that shooting them down while they're attempting to escape will solve this problem. However, Jarrod Barkeley, having tracked down the whereabouts of Nick and Heath, arrives with a judge and a doctor and is able to rescue his brothers and also institute a series of reforms at the prison-camp.
