Two men arrive at the front desk, each accusing the other of assault, Sergeant Maitland and Stringer are on hand to break things up.
A nice episode, and once again it's good to have another night shift episode, these seem to be getting more popular.
It's further evidence that this show attempts to demonstrate the workings of a fully functioning Police station, in these earlier years, this is exactly what it did, it wasn't a soap back then.
Are they guilty of using actors a little too often, both Brian Croucher and Roberta Taylor have both appeared on the show in recent times, the latter would of course appear as a regular.
Saira Todd is nice here as the duty solicitor, a good character who's naturally irritated by events. Bob Cryer does of course give her a lecture in protocol. She's a fine actress, if you're into crime drama, look for her in an episode of Inspector Wexford called Achilles heel.
7/10.
