Profiler D. S. Hunt is brought in to assist Boulton and Holmes, who are hunting down an arsonist, and looking for a man who attacked a young, homeless girl.
Very, very good episode, it's a great storyline, a very different type of case for The Bill team. Seeing John Boulton taken down a few pegs was perhaps the best bit, seeing his machismo brawn challenged by two intelligent female colleagues.
Definitely something of a macho vibe running through this one. It's still the case that an attractive woman is treated like a prize.
I really did enjoy Allie Byrne's character and performances, it's a shame she didn't become a series regular, however she does pop up in a future episode, Ticking Clocks.
Stephen Marcus was also very good here as Tony Blackwell, if ever someone was born to play a villain.
9/10.
