This edition was 27th in the charts with a total viewing figure of 10.8 million from its Tuesday night broadcast and Friday afternoon repeat.
The series had begun Friday afternoon "omnibus" editions at the start of the fourth series, though viewing figures from these repeats weren't initially listed among the ratings published by the Broadcasters' Audience Research Board (BARB). This is the first edition where BARB specified that the omnibus figure was included in the total.
Strangely, this practise was dropped for the very next episode,
Stop and Search (1988), which listed only the Thursday night screening, despite the ratings for both episodes being published in the same chart. BARB wouldn't begin regularly listing the Friday omnibus as part of the total figure until
Duplicates (1988).
