The 12th most-watched programme of the week, with 14.9 million viewers.
An indication of how far in advance of its November 1980 broadcast this episode was recorded can be gleaned by Terry Wogan talking to Brian Murphy about "Mildred" from his sitcom George & Mildred (1976). Mildred actress Yootha Joyce died on the 24th August 1980.
Although as host of the programme from Episode #7.1 (1984) Les Dawson kept the series family friendly, he seemingly doesn't have this regard when appearing as a guest panellist. His use of a swearword was bleeped out for BBC1's 1980 audience, and he makes a reference to "Deep Throat".
The exact swearword is unclear: it appears to begin with a b and Les's lips appear to say the word "bloody". However, Rolf Harris uses the same word the following week in Episode #3.12 (1980) and is uncensored. However, it could be the delivery, with Rolf's use of the term casual, and Les's shouted in mock anger.

As with his previous appearance in Episode #1.4 (1979), Brian Murphy wears a hairpiece for the show. While not as prominent as his wig the previous year, it remains an odd choice as millions had watched him in George & Mildred (1976) and so were well aware of his real balding nature.
