Near the end of the program, Annie has opened up a cafe offering victuals to the miners and other townspeople in Virginia City. If the viewer looks closely at the price list that Annie has posted on a chalkboard, the prices are extremely high for those days, even in a town close to a silver mine. Now they might have been able to double and triple prices in such a situation in those days, knowing the silver miners would have money to spend. The prices
she has listed are in fact MUCH higher than
we'd be able to charge in the early twenty-first century. Bacon and eggs for instance for fifteen dollars. Such a selection in those days would, perhaps, have been about ten or fifteen cents; possibly triple that in a mining town. NO way they could charge a HUNDRED times that.
When Annie turns her back to the camera, she is wearing a modern brassiere underneath her blouse.
