- The crew returns to Earth. Buck is put on trial for helping a group that may have had a hand in the nuclear war that devastated Earth in 1987.
- When the Searcher returns to Earth, Buck is immediately arrested on charges of high treason. He stands trial while his peers review a 500-year-old piece of evidence - a videotape from the 20th Century unearthed from the ruins of an Air Force base - which shows Buck working with treasonous military officers who brought about World War III. Facing the death penalty, Buck must prove his innocence, but he has no memory of his involvement with the events. He then begins using Dr. Goodfellow's repressed memory probe (which shows among other things, Rogers' meeting with the President of the United States in a secret base inside Mount Rushmore), hoping to find the truth of what really happened.—Woodyanders
- The Searcher leaves Earth to a new mission when Admiral Asimov is ordered to return to the orbit of Earth and wait for Commissioner Bergstrom and his team at the dock station with Buck Rogers. When he arrives, he arrests Buck Rogers for the surprise of his friends and crew. On the next morning, a court is mounted on board of the Searcher and Buck is accused of treachery and one of the responsible for the nuclear holocaust in 1987. They have just found a wallet with a VCR recorded by Buck's best friend Major Peterson that shows Buck with a group of military conspirators' officers that want to begin the war. Buck has no recollection of the event and Dr. Goodfellow proposes to use a probe to retrieve his memories and prove his innocence,—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
