After the store robbery, Turner is shown driving with his overhead red and blue lights and high beam headlights on. He then gets the radio call for the robbery. He would not have activated the emergency lights until after the radio call.
When Jon and Ponch meet the van owner and ask about his van, his asking if the van had been in a crash is plausible. When a vehicle owner is questioned by a traffic agency such as the CHP about their vehicle their first thought would be the vehicle had been in a crash. Jon's decision to arrest the owner lacked any probable cause. This is reinforced when Bonnie meets them there and is unable to positively ID the owner as the person that committed the DMV robbery. Courts have ruled the "show up" procedure used at the station where the witness directly confronts only one suspect is improper. The proper process after the fact is a "line up" with multiple persons or photographs viewed remotely. The reason for this is demonstrated when Jon tells the witness that half the suspects they bring in threaten the eyewitness.
When Ponch is hit by the laser, he loses his eyesight for hours, yet when Bonnie, and the DMV clerk are similarly hit by the same laser before the robbery they are able to see within minutes. However, the power of the laser could have been changed between uses, which would not have to be shown, to account for this.
After the crash involving Officer Turner, the flatbed truck and large sedan that were used for the crash are seen undamaged several seconds later as the van crosses another intersection, and the same billboard is visible in both scenes. This reveals they used the same intersection and vehicles for both scenes.
The laser, in order to blind people, would have to hit the victims in the eyes. However, the laser beam hit the victims on the bridge of the nose, between the eyes, which should not have blinded any of the people.
In the crash at the antique car race, the ramp used to launch the pickup over the car is visible when Jon rides by on the horse.
The same Ford station wagon and Cadillac coupe spin out at the crash outside the antique car race and again a few moments later when the robber's vehicle is forced into the park. The same Cadillac is shown when Jon jumps into the robber's vehicle.
When Ponch goes out for the test ride to re-gain his confidence, he runs a stop sign before turning on to the Pacific Coast Highway.
When Bonnie questions the college administrator about the suspected thieves (a student and teaching assistant), the administrator tells Bonnie that the student has just left that morning on a flight to attend a family member's funeral. Generally speaking a college administrator wouldn't know about a specific undergraduate's day-to-day schedule. College students don't report absences to a central office; they deal directly with their professors on an individual basis.
Jon asks Cato about his friend in the antique car at the DMV robbery being able to ID the suspect and is told to come by and interview her. She was also hit by the laser and would not have been able to ID anyone, something Cato knew since he was there.
