Soon there is a case to be investigated relative to the death of a con-man in a parking lot. The couple Matt and Cindy Orton have just been cheated by the victim, Vincent Thomas Avery, and lost two thousand dollars that now are evidence. Warrick has difficulties to impose himself to his colleagues, but handles the work with a great support of Nick. When the coroner Dr. Albert 'Al' Robbins finds bagged drugs in Vincent's stomach, they learn that he is also a mule. Their further investigation shows that Brass' estranged daughter Ellie is involved in the case.
