One Of The Great Episodes

I'd rank this episode among the best in this great two-year television series of the early 1960s. I've seen this episode a number of times over the years and never failed to laugh out loud at least a handful of times. The story is filled with great one-liners by Beatrice Pons ("Lucille"), Joe E. Ross ("Gunther") and Charlotte Rae ("Sylvia").

The are also some great sight-jokes. The expressions of Lucille and Sylvia's faces in some cases is just hilarious.

One of the end - in which it looks like Gunther is about to strangle Lucille - brings tears to my eyes every time, because the camera shot and context are really, really funny.

This story is writer Nat Hiken at his best. Hiken just loved to write comedies involving misunderstandings, and then exaggerating them for laughs.
