When you make up to 25 episodes of a show per series not every episode can be a classic. Sometimes episodes have to just be 'ok'.
And this is a very 'ok' episode , not great, but not unpleasant either.
The Richard story is interesting enough, with him trying to break his run of being a pet killer (albeit an accidental one) but the story relies on Malcolm Gets making it work rather than anything else.
The Charlie/Del story line isn't that funny either.
