It can be compared to Scientology and their "audits", in the sense that controversy also surrounds est, with fierce divisions between its supporters and detractors.

This episode is based on "The Most Dangerous Game", a short story by Richard Connell. Published in 1924, it was first filmed as The Most Dangerous Game (1932) and has been redone numerous times. The story's plot has also served as the basis for a multitude of TV shows, including The Snare (1979), which aired only two days after after this particular Charlie's Angels episode.
Lloyd Bochner (Malcolm Case, who wants to kill Charlie for revenge), would later play Cecil Colby - a nemesis of John Forsythe's character Blake Carrington - on Dynasty (1981).
