Can he swing from a web, no he can't, he's a Chris...
owlaurence10 July 2008
Warning: Spoilers
This episode officialises Chris's real entrance into the family, as HE is changed into a demon and tries to kill his relatives -which is the Halliwell's rite of acceptation into the family, as we know. By the way, I can't believe that there isn't a single reference to Spiderman here. While that plot is decent, the best parts of the episode actually occur around it. Like the ultrasound picture, or Chris's reaction to learning that Wyatt could shield in the womb, or the fact that he STILL wants to kill Leo after the spell ends. Those two sure spend a lot of time beating each other up -and chatting at the top of that bridge, too.

Then you have Phoebe's and Paige's side-plots. Phoebe's ultraspeed-dates, a consequence of her vision at the Magic School, already hint at the troubles she will soon have, and Paige is still in her workaholic phase. Her side-plot with the Wicked Witch seems a bit far-fetched, but it is so silly from beginning to end that you just have to laugh -especially as it reintroduces familiar faces.

Chris is spider man
Realrockerhalloween3 October 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Spin city follows Piper a couple of months pregnant and stalked by a spider demon. Meanwhile Leo notices his son is avoiding him. The spider demon is cool as she spins webs, cocoons her victims and feeds on magical creatures with her fangs. The only draw back is by doing it to Piper Chris should've always been a spider demon or have the antidote inside him to avoid the poison. Also the conflict with his father seems to have come out of nowhere and it's only purpose is to create drama without any emotional investment. I rather Chris had been distant or moody towards Leo the whole season instead of for one moment because he wasn't there for him in the future.

It seems the writers aren't as invested in the story as the audience throwing in issues or conflict thinking it goes unnoticed and works when all it does is feel like boring contrived trash.

Tribute to the Wicked Witch

Warning: Spoilers
I'm just writing this review because it's a shame that she got such a throwaway side story. From the one scene she's in, that could have been one hell of a funny episode!

That was the best cackle in the entire series, it would have been kind of cool to have an unapologetically cartoonish witch out there, delighting in playing pranks on unsuspecting magical folk.

The writers missed a trick there in my opinion.

The spider situation was just weird. Physics and believability were more ignored than normal (slinging webs than can push large weights? What?) and we have yet another dodgy leprechaun butchering the pronunciation of the one Irish phrase he had to say.

I'm with Phoebe - keeping the info on Chris away from Leo? Not cool, Piper and Paige.

Overall a so-so episode.
