The show is in good shape again.

Warning: Spoilers
This season premiere is at least, it's one of the best there is. I love that end of summer feel, there too. You have Smash mouth performing at the beach, Phoebe is back to being genuinely funny (and sporting a cute pixie cut), and even though she's still a bit self absorbed, her new power make sense, and is reminiscent to another plot point of the « Doherty era ». Paige however, is all over the place, and I can't wait for writers to give her a real life purpose on the show. As for Piper, what happened to her throughout the season premiere, was the opportunity for Holly Marie Combs to nuance her acting more. I liked the Valkyries, they were intriguing entities, and played by actresses I knew from other tv shows and movies. Darryl was acting a little goofy this time, but I didn't mind. Leo on the other hand, was too nagging, which made me root for Chris instead. Season six premiere, was a real treat compared to that disconcerting fifth season. One thing I didn't like though, was the editing made for the reruns. All the two hours premieres for the show, should've remained in TV movie format. Especially this one, because the editing was just too weird looking.

Feeling the pain

Warning: Spoilers
And the fun goes on in this second part of the Valkyrie episode. While Piper is definitely less amusing now, the others are having a field day. Chris and Leo keep bickering, Phoebe discovers some drawbacks of her new power, Paige finds a rather unexpected ally (did that scene remind anyone of Men In Black?) and a newly revived Daryl enjoys three seconds of normalcy before hell -or in this case Valhalla- comes knocking. Knocking him off, actually. What I really like is that this plot establishes a "grey area". Chris may be a traitor, but he does save that cop that the Valkyrie was about to let die. The Valkyries may be barbaric, but ultimately they work on the side of good. And Leo... his behaviour just made my jaw drop.

So this is a very good episode ; but even if it had been totally lame, there is one scene that would make it great anyway. The revised Ride of the Valkyries, complete with the remixed soundtrack, made me choke with laughter. The look on Daryl's face when he sees them pass by is priceless.

Still, the episode doesn't get a 10 on my scale because I want to lobby for a happy Piper... which clearly isn't on the agenda, but what's that talk about getting a normal life?! Isn't she technically still married to Leo?

The One Where The Valkyrie's Come To San Francisco...

Warning: Spoilers
I love this episode. I love the Valkyrie's so much, and when Piper turns into a full-on one, it's awesome.

In this episode, Leo, Paige, Phoebe and Daryl have all escaped from Valhalla, safe and sound. Daryl gets put back in his body and then gets attacked by the warriors that followed them. Leo and Chris have a giant fight, as Leo thinks Chris is the one who sent him to Valhalla in the first place. He was right. And we find out why, later in the season. Paige and Phoebe take off their Valkyrie necklaces and become normal witches again. Meanwhile, the Valkyrie's find out that Piper is not a pure Valkyrie, that she was a witch. They also find out that the warriors escaped into the city, and turned off their locators. They're trained to do this, right before the final battle between good and evil are about to start. The Valkyrie's all go to San Francisco, having Piper as their guide. Paige and Phoebe try and find a way to get Piper to remember why she needs to come home. The warriors think the Valkyrie's are impostors and try to kill them, luckily they don't, and they all return to Valhalla, including Piper. Paige and Phoebe follow them to Valhalla where they make Piper realize why she must return with them.

Overall, I give this episode a 10 out of 10.

Letting go

Warning: Spoilers
The exciting conclusion picks up where the men trained for Armageddon escape into the city destroying anyone they perceive as evil doers. Leo confronts Chris about his lies and why he sent him away. You can feel the rage pouring off Leo as an aggrieved husband knowing he lost his wife and know how justified his anger is she may stay a Valkyrie forever. So when they fight out in the cage I wanted Leo to bear him to best him to a pulp for splitting up my favorite couple. It turns out Chris committed the evil acts so he can become their next whitelighter which technically should've turned him into a darklighter or the sisters into warlock for stealing Darryl's soul without permission and another reason why I wanted him beaten in the cage for teaching them the wrong things done for the right reasons is justified.

I held out hope for Piper's tortured inner self as her husband and sisters plead with her to return home. It takes the love of her son to do so proving how great a mother and the heart of the family she really is. I like to day I enjoy the second, but their marriage dissolving was to much for me to handle. I couldn't stop crying knowing the history between them to 32nd up this way like Phoebe & Cole.
