Eye to eye with the Seer
owlaurence15 July 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I guess even those who don't already like Charisma Carpenter will find it hard not to love this Seer. She's the most entertaining demon ever, and in the space of a few hours she's friends with everybody in the house. AND she manages to solve Leo's problem, at least with Piper and Phoebe. I really think that killing her is a terrible mistake. Why does the script repeatedly get rid of ALL the interesting, conflicted characters ? We would have been interested in seeing her become human ; it would even have been nice to give the sisters a few extra friends, now that even Darryl is in the grey area.

But this episode still manages to hold my interest, mainly because, once again, it blurs sides. Could Utopia be the real thing, and might Leo have been right after all ? Could Brody be the real danger, dragging Paige away from her family ? How can a demon be the nicest "person" around, while a decent human being gets obsessed to the point of hurting an innocent woman ? I haven't watched the next episodes yet, but this looks promising, although it might still become a repetition of season 4.

The One With Demon Protection...

Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoy this episode. I think it's really good and very entertaining.

In this episode, Leo is instructed by The Avatars to save The Seer from demons. So, he does, and tells the sisters that the Elders sent him. The Seer wants to become human, so that she won't be destroyed by The Avatars. In exchange, she showed Phoebe her vision of the future. A happy one, without demons and without evil. But when it's time for Kira to become human, Zankou, a horrible demon The Source locked up, who was release by Kira's enemies, comes and kills her, posing as Phoebe.

First appearance of: Zankou

Last appearance of: Kira (The Seer)

Best part of the episode: When Kira is almost killed by demons.

Worst part of the episode: When Kira is killed by Zankou.

Overall, I give this episode a 9 out of 10, which in my ratings book is: Amazing.

An ironic episode considering...
newsjunkie356-13 March 2008
Since this show is basically a cheap rip-off of "Buffy" and "Angel", having Charisma Carpenter (in the interests of full disclosure I was an acquaintance of hers in high school) appear in episode is hilarious.

But even her beauty and decent acting chops can't save this show from its mediocrity.

It's amazing a show this badly written, acted, and directed--with some of the cheapest special effects I've ever seen--lasted as long as it did.

Don't get me wrong, Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combes and Rose McGowan are gorgeous (Shannon Dougherty's alcoholism makes her look 10-15 yrs older than she is; I assume aesthetics, if not the bottle, was the reason she left the show early). And all three CAN act, but with the brain-dead material they just didn't have much to work with.
