A Bar Is Born (#8.3)

Warning: Spoilers
Sam wants to be successful too. He thinks of owning a bar again and finds a place he could buy. Only it is pretty messed up and in the worst neighbourhood in Boston. Sam speaks to Robin and he talks him out of buying it, instead Sam will try of getting Cheers back. While Robin gets that neighbourhood to use Sam's idea.

Robin is absolutely right and did nothing wrong. For Sam this idea was indeed impossible and stupid. While for Robin it is absolutely realistic.

Roger Rees is great at this role. He really owns the character. The scene when he talks to Sam is great because of his screen presence, he is absolutely magnetic. You ca see that this is a successful and rich guy.

Robin's True Colors
Hitchcoc30 August 2019
Robin Coldort turns out to be a nasty, anything for a buck, cut throat real, estate developer. He's willing to step on anyone to get what he wants. Sound like anyone we know? Sam gets a dream to buy a bar and start over. Coldcort tricks him and ends up with the property. Meanwhile, Rebecca is moon eyed and scared. It's a sad episode.

Real Estate People Are Stupid

Warning: Spoilers
Sam Malone becomes a man again, because he has a dream, because he has a drive, because he's not just some pretty-boy ex-ballplayer serving booze and nodding obnoxiously as the people around him live their lives, because he's in genuine conflict. He doesn't like working as a bartender when he knows he can successfully run his own bar.

It's amazing how the introduction of Robin Colcord can turn multiple characters towards new and hilarious story lines, and in this episode Sam decides to leave Cheers and open his own place, Sam's Place, which is not to be confused with Sam's Club, a subsidiary of the Walmart Corporation.

Okay, so Sam's Place needs a little work... maybe Robin can help out! Colcord convinces Sam to drop the idea and then turns around and buys the property himself. It's taken us exactly three episodes to discover who Robin Colcord really is: a greedy, selfish, cold-hearted, ego-maniacal bastard. Thank you, Robin...

Let's just say you no longer owe us a favor.
