Warning: Spoilers
The Cheers gang takes on rival bar owner Gary, in his second appearance, who is this time played by Robert Desiderio. It's no surprise that Gary wins when the gang gets paranoid and inadvertently chases Red Sox legend Wade Boggs out of the bar.

Over-the-top visuals abound: Carla as cat burglar, shortened stools, Norm & Cliff's poetry show and an office full of bleating sheep. This is the kind of broad, goofy episode that was abundant in Season Six. This episode- and Season Four's "From Beer To Eternity"- set up the "Bar Wars" series that would yield another six episodes.

The Cheers writers were learning that any reference to the absent Diane would be greeted with a knowing laugh from the audience, and there would be many more to come. A good fun episode, but not for your dollar-grubbing, front-office, kissy-face reasons.

Gary's Back

The Old Towne Tavern was finally defeated in the past. Now it's time for revenge. There are a series of tricks played and each trying to outdo the other. In the end it will make no difference. I just thought this premise could have played out a lot better. By the way, is there anyone else out there that that thinks the old guy with the hat is not funny?

Bar Wars (#6.23)

Warning: Spoilers
It is time to celebrate the big bowling win that happened two years ago. Only this year Gary gets to their trophy and breaks it. Cheers wants revenge! And this leads to a series of pranks that both bars play on each other. At the end Gary gets them by getting them get themselves. But cheers still win as they get the Wade Boggs pants.

A great and fun episode with many hilarious moments. All the pranks played were very funny, besides the first lame one with the champagne glasses. Actually I must say the fun part is that no matter how much I love Cheers, Gary's bar seemed so much better and he had the craziest pranks done.
