Tecumseh was a Shawnee leader who became the primary leader of a large Native American confederacy in the early 19th century. He was also among the most celebrated Native American leaders in history and was known as a strong and eloquent orator who promoted tribal unity.
In this episode, Frasier claims that both his parents are dead. Frasier says, "I would ask my parents... but they are both dead." Although it is true that his mother is deceased at the time of this episode, his father is later revealed to be alive and well in the spin-off Frasier (1993). This was addressed in a Frasier (1993). second-season episode, The Show Where Sam Shows Up (1995), where Frasier admits to Sam that he made up that story because he was embarrassed by his father.
In one scene it is shown and said to be snowing outside. In real life, the weather in Boston on St Patrick's Day 1990 (when the episode first aired) was actually unseasonably warm.

A recovering alcoholic, Sam usually is seen drinking a bottle of seltzer or a cup of coffee behind the bar. This is the first episode where Sam is drinking ginger ale instead.
