The conversations between Sam and Nina became the basis of a memorable part of "Superstar Television," an attraction/show that ran from May 1, 1989 to September 26, 1998, at the Disney-MGM Studios theme park (*now called Disney's Hollywood Studios) at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, A park guest was chosen to play the role of Nina and have the "conversation" with Sam. Using video special effects, the park guest actually appeared on the theater's in-house TVs to be talking to Sam. While Sam and the others appeared via special effects, the park guest sat on-stage at a real scale model of the Cheers bar, which was built by Disney as an exact, but smaller, replica.
At about the 7:30 mark, as Coach, Diane, and Carla are discussing Coach's romantic interest Nina, there is graffiti near the door stating "For a good time call Diane Chambers 867-5309." This phone number is from the 1982 Tommy Tutone song "Jenny." At 18:50 Diane notices the note and scribbles over it, noting that "they" got the number wrong. Carla says she got the number straight off Diane's job application.
This was "Cheers'" lowest-rated episode ever. It came in dead last in the national TV ratings for the week of November 22-28, 1982, at #68.
This episode features Bill Wiley, who was almost cast at the beginning of the season to play Coach.
