- Frasier tells Sam that the girlfriend of one his "clients" called out another man's name in bed, but Sam knows he's talking about Diane. Meanwhile, Cliff is afraid to tell a burly colleague that he's the fellow mailman who got him fired.
- Three people say things that they perhaps should not have. First, Cliff anonymously tells his supervisor that his colleague and former bodyguard, Lewis, has been pilfering fragrance samples from magazines to be delivered. Lewis is fired and asks Cliff to find out who squealed on him. Cliff is scared of Lewis, but will that ultimately stop him from telling Lewis the truth? Second, Frasier tells Sam a story about himself and Diane through the old "a patient of mine..." scenario. What he mentions is something that third, Diane said in the heat of passion when she and Frasier were making love: she yelled out her old boyfriend's name. That old boyfriend obviously is Sam. Next he sees Diane, Sam drops strong hints that he knows that she said his name while she was making love to Frasier. She is humiliated, and also furious with Frasier for telling Sam. In the light of reality, Sam and Diane reassure Frasier that they feel nothing at all for each other. However when Frasier leaves the room, Diane's tune changes. Does she still love Sam? Does her hinting that she still has feelings for him make Sam confess that he still has feelings for her?—Huggo
- Cliff grows concerned when he sees a fellow Postal Worker at work take a fragrance sample from a magazine. Cliff is torn on whether to tell his Supervisor or not, since the Postal Worker is Lewis (Sam Scarber), a big athletic African-American whom Cliff had talked into being his 'muscle during a previous episode (titled "Cliff's Rocky Moment"). Carla goads Cliff into telling on Lewis anyways, and Cliff calls the Post Office (with a Swedish accent).
Shortly afterwards, Cliff almost panics when Lewis comes into the bar, angry that someone has gotten him fired. Cliff feigns ignorance, but Lewis wants a favor from Cliff: since Cliff knows a lot about the guys at work, Lewis wants Cliff to meet him at Cheers in 24 hours, and tell him who got him fired.
Cliff is unsure what to do, but the next day when Lewis comes in, Cliff hands him an envelope with a person's name in it. However, before opening it, Cliff pleads with Lewis to consider that the person who told on him was just doing what they thought was right. After consideration, Lewis claims that he won't seek revenge, and that he has a new job anyways. However, he does tell Cliff to let the person know that they are lucky he didn't find out.
After Lewis leaves, Cliff breathes a sigh of relief, but gets guff from Carla, who sees that in the envelope, he put down the name of another Postal Worker, proving he was going to not bear the brunt of punishment for his actions!
One evening before closing, Sam is surprised when Frasier stops by the bar for a quick drink. Frasier explains that he has a dilemma with one of his patients, and would like Sam's opinion, given how it deals with a woman, something Frasier knows Sam's had alot of experience with.
Frasier explains that one of his patients had recently had his girlfriend call out the name of a former lover during the act of making love. Sam claims that it probably isn't anything to make a big deal over, but given what he's heard, Sam is certain that Frasier was mentioning himself (Frasier) and Diane, and that she most likely called out the name 'Sam.'
The next day at work, Sam playfully makes cryptic remarks to Diane, and seems more happy than usual. Finally, Diane confronts Sam in the office, and he reveals what Frasier mentioned. Diane then angrily pouts on the office's sofa, when Frasier comes into the room. Diane chastises Frasier for telling Sam, but Frasier admits he did not give names, and that Sam must have deduced who he was talking about.
Diane attempts to cover by saying she was mentioning a different 'Sam,' but Frasier feels that Diane and Sam still like each other, and maybe Diane and Frasier should separate until she gets over this. Diane counters Frasier's argument, saying that neither she nor Sam have feelings for the other. Frasier checks their eyes to be sure, and adamant that Diane is telling the truth, leaves the office.
After he leaves, Diane tells Sam that they did a good job of fooling Frasier, and the two embrace. Sam calls out Diane's name, and Diane suddenly blurts out 'Frasier!' This causes Sam to freeze, and Diane lets go of his embrace, smiling that she managed to freak him out, before leaving. Sam soon after grows angry that she's gotten him excited and let him down once again.
