This Restaurant... Does Not Serve... Hamburgers...

Frasier and Lilith adopt Carla's son Ludlow to test their skills as potential parents. Turns out Dr. Cyclops and Morticia hit the mother lode as Ludlow Tortelli enjoys opera, symphonies and experimental cinema. Somewhere along the way Carla becomes upset that the Cranes are treating her son so well so they take her out to dinner to make it up to her.

FRASIER: "Carla is a fine woman, and a close friend... actually, she's neither, and why would I want to go to dinner with her?"

The sub-plot features Woody asking to borrow Sam's car for his first date with Kelly. This is a good episode with some classic Kelsey Grammar slow burns... and the announcement at the end that Lilith is already pregnant is just the cherry on top of the sundae.

We get to meet Carlas intellectual child and he is embraced by the Cranes. They offer him opportunities that his mother can't, but Carla is a good sport. Until they decide to go out to a posh restaurant. The other plot involves Woody and Kelly borrowing Sam's car after great effort. This is a cute and pleasant outing.

The child that Carla had with the intelligent colleague of Frasier is a big boy now (must say he grew up fast!) and he did inherit love for culture from his dad. Cranes take him to the opera with them and he loves it, they end up taking him with them everywhere for a whole week until Carla gets jealous, so they take her with them to a restaurant where the genes the kid inherited from Carla come out.

The boy who was the little Ludlow was adorable!Wish there would be more stories with him even though Frasier doesn't want to see him until he is in his late 30's.But Lilith is pregnant, this makes me very excited. I love the Cranes and pregnancy and being parents can lead to some amazing and fun episodes

Six-Year-Old "Ludlow Tortelli" is ADORABLE!!!!

Absolutely funny little kidlet! Glad they brought him back as a recurring role, because he sure is a cutie-pie... and a real natural. Crazy that he was only six when he did this first of his episodes with the "Cheers" cast -- bet he had such fun! Look him up -- his name is Jarrett Lennon (actor's name; first agent said not to use his surname [?!], just first and middle, and named after two favorite musicians of his mother's), all grown up, now (big sigh). You can tell he's not one of those typical "kid-actor" types... and someone who just loves acting because it's an art. Does some improv here and there, which is cool! Still sweet as can be.
