Carla's Existence
Hitchcoc25 August 2019
I don't know. While Carla is an outrageous character who adds a lot of insult to injury in this series, I've never enjoyed episodes that feature her. In this one, Eddie Lebec mans up and asks her to marry him. The rest of the episode involves lots of plans for a party after the wedding. But Eddie's mom shows up.

Little Carla, Happy at Last: Part 1 (#6.3)

Warning: Spoilers
Eddie who got Carla pregnant proposes to her and she says "yes". Now they are preparing for the wedding in the bar. Both Carla and Eddie are very superstitious and all is going well, but then Carla and Eddie see each other on the day of the wedding. Eddie says it doesn't matter but bad things do happen only he doesn't mind. Until his mother comes and doesn't like Carla so he tells the wedding off.

Ah poor Carla! Hope the wedding goes through. Her character won't be ruined by marriage and Eddie is a fun character who I like to see on the show from time to time.

Their superstition issue is a fun topic and they dealt so well with it. Carla's son was done pretty good, he really went after his father. Well done by Timothy Williams. I looked there was a show called "The Tortellis" made in 1987. I assume it was based on those characters. Need to check it out later

Strange...
Bolesroor29 April 2011
Warning: Spoilers
This is Part I of a rather awkward two-part episode... This first part features Eddie proposing to the fright-faced, preggo Carla and then deals with her preparations for the wedding at Cheers.

There's a lot of filler here: it seems pretty clear that the writers were forced to stretch a one-part episode into two, and it seems odd that they chose to make this episode into a two-parter and not the season premiere "Home Is The Sailor." There was much more going on in that episode than in "Little Carla," which features multiple meaningless asides in order to pad out the running time.

After a series of bizarre omens Eddie's mother arrives and forces her son to cancel the wedding so there will be a cliff-hanger for Part Two. This was a very strange outing, and the second half doesn't get much better.
