Broadcast on that fatal night
kevinolzak23 July 2016
"Champs Ain't Chumps" sees Chico rejoicing in his successful replacement of a boxer friend in the ring, actually knocking out a big gorilla. Milton Lockman (Milton Frome) is a boxing manager willing to take on 'Chiller Chico' as his latest client, which makes Ed even grouchier than usual. His first bout is three rounds against a former champion, training day after day with Della's assistant Salvador (Danny Mora, third of five). We get a mention of Chico's most recent girlfriend Nancy, introduced in "Morgan and the Man," though she never made a second appearance. With only five more episodes for Freddie Prinze, his thinner physique and haggard face is really beginning to show the ravages of heavy drug use; ironically, this was broadcast on the very night he shot himself in his traumatic despair.
