The one and only script from Freddie Prinze

Warning: Spoilers
"Chico Packs His Bags" was a kind of milestone in that it was the only episode scripted by Freddie Prinze, in collaboration with Marty Nadler. Chico stays out all night with a pretty nurse (Dee Dee Rescher), and by morning Ed is fuming, despite the fact that Chico was only four minutes late for work. He interrupts their second date, and she assumes that the old man is Mr. Rodriguez, leaving Chico behind in a huff because he lives with his 'father.' The Man is especially grouchy to open this third season, and finally Chico himself has had enough, getting his own pad in a swinging singles complex. Neighbor Lorraine (Louisa Moritz) proves added incentive to move in, a sometime stewardess with more mileage on her than the planes she flies in! Louie confides to Ed that Chico's new neighborhood doesn't qualify as Skid Row, more like Death Row! Chico soon returns to the garage, only to find his van sold off, choosing the storeroom for his new bachelor quarters. Previously seen in "Too Many Crooks," Jacquelyn Hyde again proves very amusing as the flirtatious landlady.
