Warning: Spoilers
"Mister Butterfly" casts STAR TREK's George Takei as Yoshi Nakamura, introducing himself to Ed Brown as his 31 year old son, a reminder of his days during the war in Japan. Chico doesn't know what to believe: "if Ed Brown is your father, you're better off being an orphan!" Yoshi drives off after revealing his mother's name to be Mariko (Beulah Quo), who also deigns to surprise Ed in his garage. Ed is delighted to learn that he sired a vice president of his own company, but doesn't quite remember all the details of his relationship with Mariko. She reveals that another American soldier is Yoshi's actual father, but that he was killed in a street fight, so she chose Ed as his papa because she genuinely loved him. Sworn to secrecy by Mariko never to reveal her son's true parentage, Chico paints a portrait of Ed Brown as his father, recuperating from the war years in San Juan, still wearing all of his medals. A final toast with sake is performed by Yoshi's 'brother': "to Ed Brown, the father of us all!"
