- Liz Garcia, RN: [as Liz sits down at the table, she gives Chico a peck on the lips] Did you miss me?
- Chico Rodriguez: No, I got you right on the lips.
- Ed Brown: Chico, Truth is like a woman's girdle. The more it hurts, the more good it does in the end.
- Chico Rodriguez: Truth sure is like a woman's girdle. Sometimes you gotta stretch it a little bit.
- Chico Rodriguez: I happen to think she's a marvelous singer.
- Ed Brown: Yeah, That proves only one thing. Love is not only blind. It's deaf.
- Chico Rodriguez: Then it also must be dumb. Because, I always thought under that cold, hard exterior, there was a sensitive human being living inside of you.
- Ed Brown: There was a sensitive human being living inside me. And when it heard that terrible singing , it moved out.
- Ed Brown: [Speaking to Liz] I really should apologize for what I said. Because, What do I know about singing? I always thought the Jackson Five was a basketball team.
- Liz Garcia, RN: [Liz kisses Chico] Goodbye, Chico.
- Liz Garcia, RN: [Liz kisses Ed on the cheek] Goodbye, Groucho.
- Liz Garcia, RN: [Liz is talking to Chico and Ed about her wish to sing professionally] I realize that it was just a dream. I'm glad Ed woke me up.
- Ed Brown: Yeah, Who could sleep through that singing?
- Chico Rodriguez: Liz is really great in the cookin' department.
- Ed Brown: Yeah, She's not bad in the lookin' department, either!
- Chico Rodriguez: [Chico is complaining about Ed to Rev. Bemis] He's too stubborn to admit when he's wrong.
- Ed Brown: That's not true. I'm always glad to admit when I'm wrong. Is it my fault it never happens?
