"We don't move our tail for anybody!"
"The Hallowed Garage" opens with 'wrecking ball' Daniel Hanratty (Jonathan Daly) serving Ed Brown an eviction notice, ready to knock over the garage in 48 hours. Despite the government's promise of $9000 as compensation, Chico starts a petition to keep open Ed's garage, only to get 8 signatures (half of them his!). Reverend Bemis (Ronny Graham, second of nine) joins Louie in support of Ed before Commissioner Vickers (Barbara Cason), but the defiant old man refuses to give in under pressure. He displays a plaque of his motto for Chico, depicting a porcupine stuck in cement: "we don't move our tail for anybody!" Chico's successful ploy in saving Ed's garage is actually praised by Hanratty: "you know you're wasting your time as a car mechanic - with your crooked, conniving, devious mind you should be working with us in government!"
