Yo Cpl. Boone; I mean, go Cal!
pensman15 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
The act bringing them in is the Great Divo, who leaps off a platform into just six feet of water. But his assistant Cal who is in charge of the equipment has a fear of heights and can't go up the ladder to fix the platform. And Big Tim has problems also. Other circuses are playing towns just ahead of them, so the crowds won't be there, therefore they have to change their route.

Divo decides to pull out. If the circus isn't playing the big towns like St. Louis, he's signing with the Cavenaugh Circus. Cal is leaving too. The circus is heading to Centerville, his hometown where he's known as the town's biggest boob. And Cal has also been writing his girl that he's a big performer, not just the roustabout he actually is. Joey suggests he take Divo's place. Cal knows the act and has the ability. Joey doesn't know about Cal's acrophobia. So Cal will be Daredevil Jones.

Cal's girl shows up and takes Corky and Cal up to lookout point where his fear of heights is revealed to Corky. Regardless, Cal is going to try the dive claiming he would rather die than continue as a boob. But while trying to climb the ladder, Cal falls and luckily hits the tank. Sally doesn't care, but when they try to find him, he has left.

Cal has returned to lookout point, intending to throw himself over the precipice to his death. Corky tries to stop Cal, but falls into the water at the foot of the precipice. To save him, Cal must dive from the top to pull Corky to safety.

But does Cal return to the circus. We don't know. Perhaps he did but in the cut version of the episode running on MeTV, the episode just ends.

Cal is much better known to fans as Cpl. Boone from The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin
