At a rail-yard, he enters a box car and intends to get to Texas. He gets off in Kansas and comes across the circus. Corky offers him some food and when he sees April, a young bareback rider his age, he is smitten. Using his own talents as a horseman he joins the circus as Eric Cook, trick rider.
