Maybe we need to rethink hero.

Warning: Spoilers
Joey's latest idea to train Jo-Jo the monkey to become a clown has hit a few snags. Suddenly an old friend of Joey's appears: Arthur Pincus—class president, most likely to succeed, smartest kid in school. But poor Pincus runs an umbrella factory and has been courting the same woman for seven years. But her son Robin has no use for Mr. Pincus; and even Julie Treadway, the object of his affections, isn't really attracted to Pincus. He is punctual, has nice handwriting, is polite. He is just dull.

Joey comes up with an idea to impress Julie but it backfires. Robin is impressed but with Big Tim Champion. Plan two? There better be because Robin has decided his mom will marry Big Tim. Robin has his plan two: Mr. Champion is invited to dinner and Julie Treadway puts "on the dog," Big Tim talks "man to man" with Julie, and tells her to live her own life and not let her son dictate her decisions.

Robin decides to run-away to join the circus. He is determined to make Big Tim his father, not Arthur Pincus aka Mr. Jellybean (for bringing Robin jelly beans as gifts). But when a lion escapes his cage, Arthur Pincus jumps in to save Robin. The lion in question is pretty tame but Robin didn't know that and he sees Pincus in a new light.

Big Tim tells Robin Mr. Pincus is the real hero because he would be the kind of father who works hard, pays the bills, and does all that knowing there will be no applause from the audience.

Will it all work out? Well that we will never know.
