Jake Swithin, a handyman at Arlington Grange discovers treasures believed lost, treasures which once belonged to the church, and treasures that throw shade on Mrs Peacock's family. Jake's days are numbered.
I'm staggered that the wonderful Russell T. Davies wrote this, it's almost unfathomable.
Let's be honest, this is horrible, I don't like the new format, the music, the casting, and as for them revealing the killer early on, it just doesn't work.
The whole evening dress theme just doesn't work either, it's too over the top, they tried to refresh the show, it didn't work.
I adore Liz Smith, but oh my days she was shocking, playing it too much for laughs, she and the rest of the cast seem to be sending the show up too much. I'll give Nicholas Parsons his dues,
Jerry Hall, bless her, not an actress, the casting in general was just too over the top.
5/10.
