As D-Day is about to occur, Hanley is a Technical Sergeant, not a lieutenant. He outranks Saunders by two pay grades.
TV debut of Tom Skerritt. He has an uncredited bit as a soldier in the background listening as Saunders tells the story of the "Day in June". Update: Skerritt was actually in the first episode of the series, Forgotten Front (1962), but that was also a very minor scene with him just sitting in a chair.
The actor Vic Morrow and director Boris Sagal will die the same way twenty years later, both killed, separately, on shooting locations by a helicopter blade.
For the only time in the series, Pierre Jalbert's character, though still identified as a Cajun from Louisiana, is referred to as "Caddy" instead of "Caje" (Jalbert himself is actually a French-Canadian from Quebec).
