The trial of Ray Luca, Phil Bartoli & Paulie Taglia opens with U.S. Attorney Harry Breitel presenting Frank Holman's testimony that Holman worked as a burglar for Bartoli, through Luca & with Taglia while also paying Lt. Michael Torrello for protection. Everett Steele calls Torrello to refute Holman's testimony. David Abrams's warning that Breitel is a "weasel," who "has teeth," turns out to be all too true when Breitel's line of attack turns to the conspiracy involving Ted Kehoe, Torrello's best friend, which resulted in the deaths of Kehoe & his fiancee, Marilyn Stewart. The damage done by Breitel's aggressive questioning & Torrello's angry responses convince Danny Krychek that the MCU has to do something to help. Ray Luca reports to Manny Weisbord that local boss Dominic Tranchita disregards Weisbord's prohibition against the drug trade. Abrams takes over the examination of Torrello on the stand. Tranchita defies Weisbord openly at the Council but Steve Kordo's secret negotiation opens the way for unified organized crime support for the Las Vegas operation. As they look to their new lives after their Chicago adventures, both Torrello & Luca have to put aside old feuds--each in his own way.
