In season 2 episode 22 The ending had woody and max pointing guns at each other The start of season 3 episode 1 did not follow up. Any one know why

Why did they wait until the end of season 3 to wrap this up?

The conclusion to the second season is revealed in the last episode of season three, "Oh, Brother Where Art Thou?" Jordan awakens in an alley and questions Macy, who is at her apartment to pick up Maulden's body.

Episode leaves you unsatisfied Conclusion has Max killing Edward Herman character with Woody breaking in and confronting Max. No wrap up Tech specs list episode as one hour. Episode stopped at 42 minute mark
