Two mentions of Francis Ford Coppola implied that Cybill had never worked with the director. In fact, Cybill Shepherd starred in a movie called Daisy Miller (1974), the third and final movie from The Directors Company, a production group featuring Coppola, Peter Bogdanovich, and William Friedkin. At the time, Bogdanovich was dating Shepherd and was optimistic about the film. Unfortunately, the film was a box office failure and the trio broke up.
