- Shannon and Leary investigate a double homicide in an old downtown walk-up office building. A cabbie who dropped off the victims at the building did see who was the killer leave the building with the victims' two briefcases. Canvassing the businesses, no one seems to know who the victims were or if they were coming to visit their establishment - or so that what each says. It isn't until Leary and Shannon find the suspected killer that they make an educated guess at which of the few shady businesses is not telling the truth about expecting the two victims. Meanwhile, Kosmo investigates the death of Alice Revelstoke, whose dead body was found in a park, Revelstoke with a chopstick impaled in her eye socket. The death is from the eye injury, there is no sign of struggle and the chopstick was impaled with a great deal of force. Canvassing the residents whose homes face onto the park, Kosmo stumbles on some information which leads her to the possible killer and the weapon. Da Vinci investigates the death of Ollie Olsen, an elderly homeless man found outside the entrance of a condominium building. Despite it not recently have rained, Olsen is soaking wet and because of the cold night, he died from hypothermia. Despite there being a death, Philip Simms, a resident of the building, is insensitive to the situation. In part because of Simms' attitude, Da Vinci accuses Simms of having some part in the man's death - namely that Simms poured water onto Olsen - an accusation to which Simms does not take too kindly. Verbal and legal jabs go back and forth between Simms and Da Vinci. Regardless of if Da Vinci is right or wrong about Simms being a cause of Olsen's death, Da Vinci thinks he at least has won a moral and ethical victory. Back at the Coroner's office, rumor has it that Jimmy is taking a job at the Attorney General's office. Despite not liking authority, Da Vinci thinks about going for Jimmy's soon to be vacated job as chief coroner.—Huggo
