On look-out Frasier comments that the night outside is pitch-black with no visibility at all. There are no street lights or lights from buildings since the black-out is in force. However, when the platoon are crossing the minefield, there is plenty of light and everything can be clearly seen. This is not a goof since there had to be enough light to film.
