- Pamela Barnes Ewing: [to Bobby] I can't help thinking if my brother's a rat, it's your brother who turned him into one.
- J.R. Ewing: Y'know, I'm really glad I asked Kristin to come out here. She really adds some color to this place.
- Sue Ellen Ewing: You know, J.R., I've got it all figured out.
- J.R. Ewing: What's that?
- Sue Ellen Ewing: What you're up to.
- J.R. Ewing: Now, why is it everybody always thinks I'm up to something, huh? Explain that to me.
- Sue Ellen Ewing: If you thought there was any way in the world you could get away with it, I think you'd dare seduce my baby sister,
- J.R. Ewing: Well, I've underestimated you, Sue Ellen. I've never given you proper credit for your colorful imagination.
- Kristin Shepard: I keep telling you, Sue Ellen, I know exactly what I'm going to do with my life. And being hurt is just not part of the plan.
- Wally Kessel: You're using Ewing money to get the Ewings. I got to hand it to ya, boy, you sure did grow up devious.
- Cliff Barnes: No, that's just a recent development.
- Bobby Ewing: [on phone] Look, Pamela, what's the sense? As long as you think that Cliff is Sir Galahad and the Ewings are the forces of evil, there's no sense in talking.
- J.R. Ewing: [watching Bobby and Kristin laugh and frolic in the pool] First time in weeks I've heard Bobby laugh.
- Sue Ellen Ewing: She is my sister, J.R., and I don't want you to use her as a pawn in one of your silly little games.
- J.R. Ewing: A little bit early in the day for you to start imagining things, isn't it? You haven't started drinking already, have ya?
- J.R. Ewing: You know, you've had a remarkable effect on my brother.
- Kristin Shepard: I have?
- J.R. Ewing: Oh, yeah. He was more cheerful this morning than I've seen him in weeks.
- Kristin Shepard: Well, I don't think you can hold me responsible for that.
- J.R. Ewing: But I do, I definitely do. Y'know, he hasn't wanted to admit it, but his marriage is over. It's just flat finished. And I think today he finally accepted that fact.
- Bobby Ewing: What is it about you, Pamela? You think that my family is capable of any kind of double dealing, that I am, too! And yet your precious brother, he's capable of doing no wrong, is that right?
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: That's not what I said.
- Bobby Ewing: It's time you faced up to some facts. Nobody is perfect. Not me and not your brother. It's time you grew up, Pamela.
- Bobby Ewing: [Bobby confronts Cliff] Our marriage has enough problems without you adding to them.
- Cliff Barnes: The thought of you and my sister getting a divorce doesn't exactly break my heart. I never wanted her to marry you to begin with.
- Bobby Ewing: C'mon, Cliff. I thought we came a long way past that.
- Cliff Barnes: You know, I've got nothing against you personally, Bobby. I guess I even like you. But you are a Ewing. And to date you Ewings have cost me an election, you've tried to saddle me with a trumped-up murder charge, so right now my sole purpose is to cause you as much trouble as I can, even to ruin you! And I'll do anything and use anybody to do it.
- Bobby Ewing: Even your sister?
- Cliff Barnes: Including my sister! I want her out of that family! I want her back on the right side of the tracks where she belongs.
- Bobby Ewing: [draws in close to Cliff, eyeball-to-eyeball, speaks softly but resolutely] My brother has been waiting for the chance to tear you apart. And so far I've been running interference for you. Now, if you don't leave my marriage alone, I'm not only gonna stop doing that, I may even lend him a hand.
- Cliff Barnes: Pam, you really shouldn't walk into rooms unexpectedly. You might learn something you don't want to know.
- Cliff Barnes: [challenging Pam] You know, you have to choose. You're either a Ewing or a Barnes. But you have to choose.
- Kristin Shepard: [floating in pool] You know, I could spend the rest of my life here, Sue Ellen, instead of a few days visiting you.
- Sue Ellen Ewing: [on side of pool, dipping her toes in the water] No matter what Mama says, Kristin, money is not the most important thing in the world.
- Kristin Shepard: That isn't what you used to think.
- Sue Ellen Ewing: Well, I thought I could save you from repeating my mistakes.
- Kristin Shepard: [taking in the luxury around her] This is a mistake?
- Sue Ellen Ewing: I might have made other choices... Choices that would have made me happier.
- Kristin Shepard: You don't have to worry about me, Sue Ellen. I'll be very happy.
- [slides half-way off lilo into the water]
- Kristin Shepard: Happy and rich.
- Sue Ellen Ewing: You don't like me very much, do you? Why? What have I ever done to you?
- Kristin Shepard: [spitefully] You didn't have to do anything. You were there.
- [imitating her mother:]
- Kristin Shepard: "Look how pretty your sister is, Kristin. Look how well-behaved she is. Why can't you be well-behaved like that? No, you can't have a new dress, Kristin. We'll just make over one of Sue Ellen's. It will be just fine." No one paid any attention to me until after you married J.R.
- Sue Ellen Ewing: That's not true, Kristin.
- Kristin Shepard: Yes, it is. I remember it very well, Sue Ellen. And I'm not playing second fiddle to you anymore. I'm not gonna be second best. I'm gonna get everything you've got and more.
- [phone rings]
- Kristin Shepard: Much more... What about Bobby and Pamela? Do... do you think they'll get back together?
- Sue Ellen Ewing: Why?
- Kristin Shepard: Just curious.
- Bobby Ewing: [she was waiting for him somewhere on the street] We have to stop meeting like this.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: [laughs] Hi.
- [they kiss]
- Bobby Ewing: I mean it.
- [walks along with her]
- Bobby Ewing: I feel like I'm having a clandestine affair with my own wife. I'm not enjoying it.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: I know. Maybe we should stop meeting. I love to see you... but we haven't resolved anything.
- Bobby Ewing: It could resolve itself in a minute, Pamela. You could come home.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Oh, if you were Bobby Smith or Bobby Jones, I would in a minute.
- Bobby Ewing: That's one wish the Ewing money can't grant you.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Oh, I love you, Bobby.
- Bobby Ewing: If I didn't believe that, Pamela, I wouldn't be here.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: But I can't love the Ewing family. They destroyed my father, and now they're trying to destroy my brother.
- Bobby Ewing: Pamela... the feuding has got to stop, and it can stop with us.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: I thought it would when I married you, but it's worse than it's ever been.
- Bobby Ewing: It takes time, honey. You've got to give it time.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: [she halts, looks him in the eyes] Bobby, please don't make this any harder for me than it already is. I just don't know what I'm gonna do.
- [the intensity leads to her kissing him]
- Bobby Ewing: [after passionate kiss] Come on, I'll buy you lunch.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: You extort $10 000 from me by totally misrepresenting the facts. You make trouble for me and Bobby and his family, and you want to know why I'm upset? I feel like a fool. Bobby tried to tell me, and I wouldn't believe him.
- Cliff Barnes: You know, if you're so concerned about your precious marriage, why are you living in a hotel? Why aren't you home with your husband?
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Better than anyone, you know the answer to that.
- Cliff Barnes: You know, you have to choose. You're either a Ewing or a Barnes. But you have to choose.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: That's right. I have to decide. But you don't get to do it for me.
- Cliff Barnes: Okay, I admit, I set you up. I wanted to knock you off that fence you're sitting on because I want you here on my side.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Lately, your side doesn't look any more attractive to me than the Ewing side does. In fact, I can't tell the difference anymore.
- [leaves]
- Lucy Ewing: [waiting for her rival after Kristin lost out with Bobby] I told you so.
- Kristin Shepard: What are you talking about?
- Lucy Ewing: [smirks] All I wanted was a glass of milk. Instead I got a love scene. I heard the whole thing.
- Kristin Shepard: And what do you intend to do about it?
- Lucy Ewing: Nothing. But there's just no room around here for you, Kristin.
- Kristin Shepard: What difference does it make to you?
- Lucy Ewing: It makes plenty of difference. You get in my way. Why don't you just go someplace that you have a chance? Stick around this family, you're just gonna end up... a big loser.
- [last lines]
- Bobby Ewing: [after kiss] I love you, Pamela. And I want you. Does that make a difference?
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Of course it makes a difference.
- Bobby Ewing: But not enough.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Oh, Bobby, if we could go someplace tomorrow, just the two of us, and start over again... I'd go anyplace in the world with you.
- [smiles]
- Bobby Ewing: Except Southfork?
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: I can't.
- Bobby Ewing: Don't you see, Pamela? If we run away, they'd have won, both of them, Cliff and J.R. I don't wanna go through life knowing that I let them whip me. I'd like to tell you that I could wait forever for you to make up your mind.
- [shakes his head]
- Bobby Ewing: But life's not like that. People change. Too many things happen. Decide, Pamela. Decide soon.
