- J.R. Ewing: You've wrecked me at the cartel, you know that. Stripped me of all my power.
- Bobby Ewing: That's wonderful, J.R. You forged daddy's will, set Cliff Barnes for a murder, and all you can think about is your power.
- Bobby Ewing: It's your Red File, isn't it, J.R.? I mean that's everything that you didn't think I was ready to see.
- J.R. Ewing: Well, you are my baby brother. Some of the stuff's pretty gamey.
- Bobby Ewing: It's the old Barnes and Ewing feud again, isn't it? Well I love you Pamela and I want you back with me. But you got to remember I was a Ewing when you married me, and I'll be a Ewing till I die. If you think you can live with that, then you call me.
- [walks away from her without looking back]
- J.R. Ewing: [to Sue Ellen, before he goes out the door] Don't flatter yourself, darling. You're just another Ewing possession. Like an oil lease. Easily disposable.
- [leaves with a smirk]
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Bobby?
- [he turns back from door]
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Please hurry back. I'm gonna need you in the courtroom.
- Bobby Ewing: That's the best thing I've heard all day.
- [winks at her]
- Bobby Ewing: Did you see Cliff?
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Yeah.
- Bobby Ewing: How is he?
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Well, you know how Cliff is. Always tries to wisecrack his way through everything.
- [Bobby scoffs]
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: I'm really frightened for him.
- Bobby Ewing: Pamela, you shouldn't go through this alone.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: I can't come back to Southfork. Live in the same house with J.R.? Look at him every evening across dinner?
- [shakes her head]
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: No. Not as long as I know he's responsible for Cliff being in jail.
- Bobby Ewing: Pamela, that's only part of it. I'm there too, you know. Mama, she loves you very much. Daddy, Lucy...
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Your Daddy only tolerates me because he loves you so much.
- Bobby Ewing: You know, it sounds like you look for excuses to stay away.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: This whole thing with Cliff has exposed all our differences.
- [Bobby raises his?eyes]
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Now I'm confused.
- Bobby Ewing: About what? About whether you love me?
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: [smiles, shakes her head] No, never that.
- Bobby Ewing: Well, I don't see anything else.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: But there is. Do you believe that Cliff is guilty?
- Bobby Ewing: I don't think he killed Julie, no.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Then what about J.R.? Do you think he framed Cliff?
- Bobby Ewing: I think J.R. would do anything he could to keep what he thinks is his. Like I would, to keep you.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Oh, Bobby, it's not that I don't miss you. I woke up this morning, and you weren't there, and...
- [voice breaking:]
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: I needed you so badly.
- Bobby Ewing: Oh, then, let's work it out together. Pamela, we're better together.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: [shakes her head, close to tears] No. It wouldn't work right now.
- Bobby Ewing: [gives up reluctantly] I'm gonna go see Cliff.
- [goes off]
