Another solid effort

John Drake's Mission: Discover how a young woman wandering the countryside with amnesia has secret information about a second plot to assassinate the president of the friendly country.

These Danger Man episodes are like crack - the more I see the more I want to see. This one is another real winner. While the amnesia plot device may, at first, seem tired, The Girl in Pink Pajamas doesn't drag it out and allow it to overstay its welcome. There is the some real suspense in this episode with Drake playing a bluff hoping for the desired outcome. Will the bluff work or not? Drake also gets one of his better chances to show his fighting skills as he takes on three baddies at once without a gun (Drake doesn't have a gun, the baddies do). My only complaint is that there are so many characters and so much going on, I would have liked a longer runtime than the 25 minutes Danger Man allowed for. It's not that things are too rushed, I would have just preferred to see things drawn out more to add to the enjoyment.

A solid 8/10 from me.

Well done...and with an impressive finish.

While in the field, Drake (Patrick McGoohan) receives a message informing him that he's on a new case. An amnesia victim has been discovered nearby who cannot remember much BUT she keeps talking about a hospital which is also nearby--and where a world leader is about to undergo surgery. Drake's job is to interview the woman, determine if a real threat exists AND uncover the conspiracy if there is one.

While I hate stories that rely on amnesia (an overused concept since it is relatively rare), this one went very well. Once again, the acting and writing are very nice and the program works in the half-hour format. What I particularly liked was the ending. While Drake rarely uses a gun and often solves problems without violence, here he is a real he-stud--taking on three evil doers at a time and bluffing in order to solve the case. An action-packed and interesting episode. Plus, I kind of liked the 'Good Samaritan' character, as she was simply awful--and rather funny.

Lousy story for Patrick to save

This is a convoluted, dreary storyline is saved only (as usual) by McGoohan's authoritative manner and ingenuity, bluffing his way into foiling the villain in Malvania, during an assassination on the country's president. They're out to kill him in a hospital, with local securtiyin on the scheme.

Angela Browne plays the title role as a girl with amnesia, thrown off a train, carrying the secret to uncovering the plot. She ends up in nothing role, looking either blank or scared. Angela had many appearances on British TV, including McGoohan's "The Prisoner" and "The Avengers", but none significant.
